When I was a Kid…
I dreamed of becoming an astronaut. But deep down, I was always a creator and entertainer. A career in anything math or science-related? Definitely not in my future. Looking back, it was clear to everyone but me—though I probably always knew that performing was my true calling, I didn’t see it as a viable career path at the time.
While my parents weren’t performers themselves, they came from strong musical backgrounds and had a deep appreciation for the arts. My dad’s side of the family was full of earthy, rock-and-roll enthusiasts—grandpa even ran away with the circus and played the honky-tonk! While my mom’s father was a clarinet prodigy and a talented jazz musician who played in one of the Marine Bands. We grew up attending theater performances and watching classic movie musicals together, which deeply influenced my love of music and storytelling.
Though I adored music and theater, I was never the stereotypical “theatre kid” working professionally on stage or screen. Instead, I performed whenever I had the chance—through piano competitions, summer camps, church productions, worship teams, and even in our backyard. I was always playing “dress-up” and dragging my brother into my imaginative escapades. Whether reading, writing, or telling stories, I was always directing and performing.. clearly a “Creative” at heart. It just took me some time to realize that I was “born to entertain”.
Fast forward to today, and I’m in awe of how my journey has unfolded. I truly believe that every step has been guided by God. I hold a Master of Music in Vocal Performance and Bachelor’s in Music Education and Theatre. My career as a hybrid performer and teacher has been wonderfully diverse, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’ve had the privilege of performing across the country and internationally in a variety of mediums: on stage, on camera, as a print model, shoe model, voice artist, and more. While also servng as an award winning theatrical and music director, choir director, acting coach and private vocal instructor.
I’ve trained under incredible mentors—Dr. Maryann Kyle, Dr. Teri Bickham, and Dr. Taylor Ferranti, to name a few—and I’m proud to have coached many talented students who have gone on to perform professionally on cruise lines, in regional theaters, on national tours, and even on Broadway.
What makes my journey even more special is that I’ve been able to share many of these experiences with my amazing husband and colleague, Conrad Bear. Together, we’ve spent 13 years in marriage (and many more years as friends) building a creative and fulfilling life. His smooth baritone voice isn’t just a showstopper—it makes everyone swoon!
As a working artist, I wear many hats—but I’m not a “jack of all trades, master of none.” I work hard to be the best I can be in each area, and I strive to help others discover the best in themselves too.
Curious about the hats I wear? I’d love to show you!
Though each of my hats may vie for “fave” status, I am first and foremost a daughter of The King, wife and devoted cat mom.
When off stage/off camera you can find me exploring the great outdoors with my husband Conrad, binge watching Masterpiece Theatre, reading in our library, flower gardening, drinking lots of boba tea and loving on our 4 adorable fur babies.
